The playful, hopeful new track from Pale Blue Eyes is ‘Star Vehicle’. “It’s about daydreaming of the future and riding out difficult times together – kind of fantasizing about somewhere far away. It touches on times at art college, where there was a student bar called The Rat & Emu, out in the middle of the countryside,” they explain. “I remember the stars seemed so bright overhead.” Musically, it’s a bold track that lets indie-influenced guitars take centre stage, while soaring, often experimental synth-work (a common occurance on their upcoming album), lets the track jolt into a whole new direction at a moment’s notice. Pale Blue Eyes are opening for Public Service Broadcasting around the UK in October, and their debut album, Souvenirs, is out on September 2nd, 2022. -Dan Peeke.
